Résumé

Wendy Walliams has one dream left and that's to become an author. Every other aspect of her life is in tatters and out of her control. So Wendy thinks that if she can get this right, then everything else will simply fall into place. Only, It doesn't help when she's forced to move back in with her father (who hates her) and convinces her husband (who seems to hate her too) that writing is a 'proper job', whilst trying to do her best for her son (who also hates her).
But there are secrets and lies that lurk in the past and present, which can tear her world apart if she can't get a grip on reality long enough to sort it all out. And she can do this, can't she? This is a comedy of manners and not all of them, good!
Maureen Reil writes romantic comedies and humour filled short story collections full of heart. And they end in a happy ever after for the female main character and her dishy male love interest but not before a whole book full of funny situations take place, of course. If that sounds like a fun read and something you'd enjoy then she has had over 37 books published, so far, to choose from but she's always working on a new manuscript to add to that tally so she's not done yet.
Maureen is a wife and mother who was born in the city of Liverpool, but resides in semi-rural Lancashire UK. She still longs to live back by the sea because there's nothing like breathing in that fresh salty air as opposed to the countryside smell of whatever manure the farmers use in her area (always on the same day she hangs her washing out, she notes like it's a conspiracy against clean clothes or something).
She even misses having sand everywhere when opening up the doors and windows, instead of flies in the summertime. While it was always a dream of hers to become a novelist ever since she wrote stories in school, she didn't believe that one day she would get to make that wish come true so she is forever grateful to anyone who reads her work. And when Maureen is not writing, she is usually reading but thinking about writing because let's face it; life is one big story so there's plenty to write about.
