A strong bond developed; they hunted together and taught each other. After two years, Nitis found a pack of his own. He quickly took over the role of pack leader "Alpha male". The lack of wild animals caused the pack to enter housing areas, attack, and kill people for food. The weariness and fear wolves had for people had disappeared with hunger.
