When Clay Ralston was released from prison he headed for the only place he knew. It was there that he was to get the money from the sale of his ranch and begin his life anew. Beaver Valley was the only home he ever had, but it was a changed place for him. King Kelsey now controlled most of the valley and held influence over the citizens of Beaver Creek and King wanted his gone. When he found out that the money was gone and because of King's influence the people did not want him there he went to the only place where he could get help.
