Résumé

IntroductionIn which our protagonist, Gaurav "Gary" Chaddha, embarks on a quest for enlightenment amidst the Himalayan heights, only to find that the universe has a peculiar sense of humor. Gary Chaddha was the kind of man who believed that life could be meticulously planned, color-coded, and bullet-pointed into submission. At 32, his greatest adventures involved navigating the labyrinthine corridors of corporate Gurgaon and surviving the perilous terrains of office politics.
Yet, as he sat in his cubicle, surrounded by motivational posters that screamed "Think Outside the Box!" and "Synergize to Maximize!", Gary felt an inexplicable void-a yearning for something more profound than quarterly reports and PowerPoint presentations. It all began one fateful evening when Gary stumbled upon a YouTube video titled "Find Yourself in the Himalayas: A Journey to Inner Peace" by a user named "Shivbro69." The video showcased serene monks meditating amidst snow-capped peaks, interspersed with drone shots of quaint villages and the occasional yak.
Enthralled and perhaps a tad naïve, Gary decided then and there that he was destined for the mountains. After all, if enlightenment couldn't be found in the break room's vending machine, it had to be in Himachal Pradesh. Armed with a backpack full of essentials-seven power banks (because one could never be too prepared), a GoPro to document his spiritual awakening, and a copy of "Meditation for Dummies"-Gary set off on his journey.
Little did he know that the universe had a series of misadventures meticulously planned for him, each more absurd than the last. From misinterpreting a silent meditation retreat as a karaoke session, to being outpaced by a septuagenarian nun on a treacherous trek, Gary's quest for tranquility was anything but tranquil. Yet, amidst the comedic chaos, he discovered snippets of wisdom in the most unexpected places-a crow that seemed to mock his every misstep, a donkey named Prakash with an uncanny knack for judgmental stares, and a local guru who turned out to be a 19-year-old college dropout named Monty.
As Gary bumbled his way through the Himalayas, he began to realize that perhaps enlightenment wasn't about escaping the chaos but embracing it with a hearty laugh. After all, in the grand tapestry of life, it's the knots and tangles that add character. Join Gary on this uproarious expedition where the path to self-discovery is paved with blunders, and every misstep is a step closer to finding humor in the human condition.
