Grey Vest is a haunting tale of death, memory, and the strange possibility of coming home after you have already died. David Mercer is driving home late one night when a lonely mountain road, a dangerous curve, and the sudden appearance of a truck bring his journey to an abrupt end. The sympathetic caretakers at the House of Rest insist that he has Returned, a rare phenomenon that no one can explain. David refuses to believe he is dead. Assigned two escorts and given a distinctive grey vest identifying him as one of the peaceful Returned, David is introduced to a society that has learned to live with the dead who refuse to stay dead.
