Der 15. Europäische Kongress für Theologie fand vom 14. bis 18. September 2014 an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin unter dem Thema "Geschichte und Gott" statt und stellte sich der Aufgabe einer theologischen Interpretation von Geschichte. Der vorliegende Band dokumentiert die Plenar- und die Sektionsvorträge. Im Mittelpunkt der Beiträge steht die religiöse und theologische Rekonstruktion des Geschichtlichen überhaupt; speziell geht es dabei um die Rolle von Religion und Kirche in den drei europäischen Wendejahren 1914, 1939 und 1989.
Der Titel "Geschichte und Gott" führt das wissenschaftliche Fragen an seine Grenzen: Kann und soll man das Verhältnis von Gott und Geschichte überhaupt anhand der europäischen Historie thematisieren? Mit Beiträgen u. a. von Aleida Assmann, Jörg Dierken, Markus Gabriel, Wilhelm Gräb, Elisabeth Gräb-Schmidt, Hans G. Kippenberg, Christof Landmesser, Achim Landwehr, Thomas Römer, Wolf-Friedrich Schäufele und Richard Schröder. [History and God The 15th European Congress for Theology in Berlin] The 15th European Congress for Theology took place from September 14 to 18 at the Humboldt University in Berlin and treated the topic "History and God", with a focus on the theological interpretation of history.
The present volume documents the plenary and section lectures. The articles concentrate on the religious and theological reconstruction of historicity as such, especially in view of the role of religion and church in the three European years of change 1914, 1939 and 1989. The title "History and God" is leading scientific questioning to its limits: Is it possible and permissible after all to thematize the relationship between God and history in view of European history?
