Mit der Reformation des 16. Jahrhunderts hat sich eine Reihe von Aufbrüchen in Lehrbildung und Frömmigkeitspraxis ergeben, die in den folgenden Jahrhunderten in unterschiedlicher Weise nachgewirkt haben. Die Aufsätze dieses Sammelbandes zeichnen dies exemplarisch nach und machen dabei deutlich, dass Lehre und Frömmigkeitspraxis keineswegs einander ausschließende Größen sind, sondern sich gegenseitig bedingen und beeinflussen.
Dabei werden sowohl die Chancen als auch die Grenzen, die sich in der Geschichte der evangelischen Lehrbildung und Spiritualitätspraxis zeigen, erkennbar. [Fides, Confessio & Pietas. Festschrift for Ernst Koch on his 90th Birthday] With the Reformation of the 16th century, a series of new beginnings in teaching and the practice of piety took place, which were followed in different ways in the following centuries.
The essays in this anthology illustrate this in exemplary fashion and make it clear that teaching and the practice of piety are by no means mutually exclusive, but rather mutually dependent and influential. Both the opportunities and the limitations that are evident in the history of Protestant doctrinal education and spiritual practice become apparent.
