Résumé
EYE OF THE BEHOLDER a Photography Book by JULIAN BOUNDA photographic collection of people from across the world by National Geographic contributor and award winning documentary photographer Julian Bound. Taken over a ten year period whilst living on the road travelling throughout the continents of Asia and South East Asia, the following collection of portraiture work represents the diversity of people found within the countries of Nepal, Thailand, Bhutan, Cambodia, Japan, India, Tibet and Indonesia.
From the women who adorn traditional Japanese kimono to parade the streets of Kyoto's Gion geisha district to the monks of Dharamsala's Gyuto Tantric monastery nestled in the foothills of India's Himalaya mountain range, and from those who live in the extreme conditions of Tibet's Mount Everest base camp at an altitude of 17, 056ft/5, 200m to the laughing rice field workers of Siem Reap in northern Cambodia, 'Eye of The Beholder' presents an insight into the world and its range of communities, with only a brief accompanying outline telling of each photographs location - as it is the photograph itself which tells the story.
Photography Locations: NEPAL THAILAND BHUTAN CAMBODIA JAPAN INDIA TIBET INDONESIA. A selection of intimate portraiture photography from eight countries and two continents. ABOUT THE AUTHORBorn in the UK, Julian is a documentary photographer, film maker and author. Featured on the BBC news, National Geographic and in the international press, his work focuses on the social documentary of world culture, religion and traditions, spending time studying meditation with the Buddhist monks of Tibet and Northern Thailand and with spiritual teachers of India's Himalaya region.
