Although written for middle grade readers, the EMM series still explores important themes such as climate change, environmental conservation, technological expansion, political conflict, rivalry, and humanity's future across multiple worlds. Set in the year 2169, two centuries after humanity first stepped onto Earth's moons, EMM (Earth) (Moon) (Mars) The Mandala Labyrinth Gold (The World) explores a future where humanity has expanded across Earth, the Moon, and the Mars, together forming the vast civilization known as the EMM World.
Although the devastating Climate Change Catastrophe of the 21st Century once reshaped human civilization forever, dangerous environmental changes are beginning to rise again as political power, industrial expansion, and technological ambition continue to grow across the three worlds. At the center of the story is VJ, a rising athlete of the futuristic global sport known as mandala labyrinth gold (MLG).
While pursuing greatness within the highly competitive world of MLG, VJ gradually becomes involved in a much larger struggle: protecting the climate and future of the EMM World itself. Standing against him is his dangerous archrival, Croco, whose growing rivalry with VJ slowly evolves into one of the greatest conflicts within the series. This first volume mainly serves as the foundational worldbuilding installment of the series, introducing the civilizations, political systems, space cities, technologies, cultures, history, environmental concerns, and major characters that shape the EMM World.
