Résumé

One night a respected teacher of Israel came to Jesus under the cover of darkness. He possessed knowledge of the Scriptures, the respect of his peers, and a sincere recognition that Jesus' power came from God. Yet he still could not see the kingdom. Jesus answered him with a single, life-altering requirement: "Unless one is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God."In that private conversation Jesus unveiled a clear three-stage pattern of spiritual education that runs through the whole of Scripture.
Dreams of Nicodemus traces that pattern-the three-stage triangle of spiritual education-and shows how it appears in the lives of Moses, Paul, Peter, Job, Jonah, Joseph, Jacob, David, Elijah, Daniel, and finally John on the island of Patmos. The triangle is simple yet searching: The bound stage of "we know, " where knowledge, gifting, and religious standing are real but still insufficient The necessary stage of loss and stripping, where what cannot save is removed The restored stage in which a person receives, by faith, the capacity Adam lost: a clean spirit and the promise of a perfect body as a son or daughter of God Through carefully designed visual charts and careful exposition of the biblical text, the book follows this triangle across individual lives, then expands it into the larger ranking of all things under the Son and the final restoration of what was closed in Genesis 3.
The result is both a study of Scripture's architecture and a personal invitation. The same question Jesus put to Nicodemus that night is the question this book leaves with every reader:Have you been born from above? The way that was closed has been reopened. The ranking of every life is already being determined by the response of the heart. The final restoration is certain.
