Joe was born in 1946 in a Displaced Persons camp for Holocaust survivors.
Dan was born in Haifa in 1938 to German Jewish immigrant parents. Then it was Palestine, later Israel, and Dan was a proud Israeli, until he wasn't so sure any more.
