Résumé

It is a great tragedy of humankind that the world is now broken into two halves, in both political and economic matters, almost right in the middle. On one side are the wealthy powerful western countries and their allies. On the other side are the poorer countries of the world. The world has become a place of terrible conflicts and continuous wars. It is as if vicious politics and superpower arrogance have taken precedence over the common sense and common decency of humankind.
Perhaps it is not the people that are divided. It is the world's politicians that are terribly divided. Around the world, democracy has evolved irretrievably to become an virtual autocracy dominated by small groups of elite politicians and wealthy people. The proliferation of regional wars around the world is terribly alarming. The most recent Mideast war of Israel with Hamas is another war that should not have happened if politics pursued by the major powers and the regional powers had been more sensible and accommodating to the aspirations of the people of the region.
Clearly, the world broken in halves is not sustainable. The two parts will destroy each other in a mutually assured destruction of MAD, using highly lethal and destructive conventional weapons if not nuclear weapons. It is time for healing the wounds, for reuniting the world, and to put peace and prosperity back on track.
