Résumé

Investigative reporter Luc Gagnon deals with facts, not woo-woo stuff.  When his boss assigns him to check an alleged sea monster sighting, Luc is not happy to be wasting time that won't get him the blockbuster story he craves.  Because Luc's former wife believed the impossible, he's wary when he meets the supposed witness, Daria McKenzie, who denies her sighting.  Daria consistently eludes his questions, making him suspect that she's hiding some other secret that could be the very headline he desires.
A reporter at her door is Daria McKenzie's worst nightmare, reminiscent of the tragic media circus her family experienced a decade earlier.  Luc's interrogations endanger the secret she alone is responsible for keeping.  As attraction brings Luc closer, dare she trust him not to exploit her family all over again?  And if she does confide her story, will he choose media fame over love?
I live on beautiful Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada. Our wildlife is vast and not limited to the surrounding forests.  Recently, a bear was sighted walking in downtown Sidney and a wolf explored the sidewalks of James Bay.  Years ago, a cougar entered the Empress Hotel for afternoon tea!  Orca are often seen close to shore. I'm crazy-nuts about animals so it was destiny that my first job was working in a pet hospital.
Despite long hours and minimum pay, I loved it...but the veterinarian told me I got too emotionally attached to my patients. Because I love variety and have a broad range of interests, I've published magazine and newspaper articles on hugely diverse subjects: cats, soppy Dobermans, hiking, hang gliding, travel fun, Victoria's colorful history, housing issues, the making of artificial eyes and even a short erotic piece for "Playgirl" magazine.
I began writing novels on a manual typewriter - imagine no editing component, no spell-check, no cut-&-paste.   When I finally decided to join the modern world by buying a scary computer, it sat on my desk in its unopened box for several weeks before I was brave enough to even unpack it. Whatever else is going on in my life, I am always writing something...or maybe plotting a story in my head.
