Résumé

"...until eight months ago I was as much Nylian Lightborn as I was Sparrow Coldstar. I don't have any Nylian memories beyond the age we collided. Sixteen and sixteen, even ages and even memories. I was yellow in one life and blue in the other, but now I'm someone green. Someone who began as both but is no longer either."Sparrow Coldstar was solely focused on survival during his escape from the ruins of Anthora.
Now, however, he struggles to sort out the blended consciousness that was created when his original memories merged with the early memories of the fallen tyrant, High King Nylian Lightborn. The resulting existential crisis has left him in a depression that has not been alleviated by his much-desired move from the harsh desert to the cool coastal green of the Pearl Realm. Sparrow's mood is mildly lifted when an old family friend, the war hero Ragan Vale, comes to visit.
The feeling is fleeting, as Sparrow's younger brother, Raven, digs up an object in the forest-a tiny figurine overflowing with foul magic. On their way to help Raven return the object to the ruins where he found it, Sparrow, Raven, Ragan, and their companions find themselves surrounded by crackling glass walls, which transport them into a rotating nightmare of color-shifting daylight, surreal pocket realities, and terrifying monsters that can mutate their victims with a single touch.
With no idea what is happening or a way to return home, how will they survive each time the kaleidoscopic world stops turning?
