Résumé

George Manus has a large and very diverse writing career with autobiographical stories from his upbringing in Stockholm, Ulvik and Asker; a long life as a businessman in Norway and Denmark; and from his recent years of retirement in Spain. He has also written the company history of "Max Manus" and created a magnificent documentation of the many inventions he has produced. He has also published booklets and books with philosophical considerations, aphorisms and what he likes to call "Reflections".
A detailed book overview can be found on his website: www.maxmanusinnovation.com/george-manus-books/ In this new book, the author has set out to shatter the myth that we are all the same. We must turn the tables, he claims, and fully accept that we are all fundamentally different, with the positive and negative consequences that this has. Value norms must generally be reassessed. Respect and tolerance must be given a new meaning and value.
However, changes in attitude must occur voluntarily. The concept of justice must be made crystal clear, and the demands for fair leadership must be tightened. If you are aware of your life values, which he believes he is, and have a clear conviction that we are all different, you will be able to reduce your stress and frustration levels and achieve a better quality of life. After a relatively long life, I am in my eighty-sixth year, I have travelled more than three times the distance to the moon as a driver! My innate curiosity led me to make observations in almost all contexts, down to the smallest detail.
This means, for example, that I automatically became aware (angrily!), of what in my opinion were other peoples deviations from the traffic rules. After having completed countless trance-European road trips and living permanently in Spain for more than 20 years, I consider myself to have acquired good driving skills. But before I had managed to raise awareness of what this diversity of people meant, I had the habit of trumpeting the slightest mistakes of others in traffic, seen with my eyes, to the great irritation and embarrassment of fellow passengers.
As a consequence of our differences, all of us are right and unique - based on our own assumptions. We are not content just being right but are constantly trying to substantiate our private assumptions and interpret them to our own advantage. You quickly notice whether a person disagrees with your views, and to what extent you can reach an agreement....
