Der Band versammelt die Beiträge der VIII. Nachwuchstagung der Konferenz für Geschichtsdidaktik und spiegelt die inhaltliche wie methodische Bandbreite aktueller geschichtsdidaktischer Nachwuchsforschung wider. Die Beiträger widmen sich drei wichtigen Themenbereichen: Geschichtsunterricht und Geschichtslehrkräfte im Fokus didaktischer Forschung, Geschichtsschulbücher in der Analyse sowie Geschichtskultur und Erinnerungskultur als Gegenstände geschichtsdidaktischer Forschung.
Die schulische Vermittlung steht hierbei ebenso im Fokus wie nichtschulisches historisches Lernen. Beide Felder werden sowohl mittels empirischer als auch theoretischer Fragestellungen perspektiviert.
