Paige Harmon is desperately trying to hold her life together, but the world has not been kind to people like her. In the midst of all this turmoil, Paige takes on what seems like a typical missing person's case that quickly spirals into something far more sinister. The investigation puts her on the trail of a notorious grave robber, and also causes her to cross paths with a candidate for governor whose wife once tried to have Paige and Andie killed.
With the help of an injured State Trooper, Paige tries to untangle the threads of hate and deceit. Each discovery is more gruesome than the last. Paige dreads where all this will lead her. But if she doesn't put a stop to this new evil, there will be no comfort for anyone she cares about, living or dead.
