To Nowhere and Back:Book One
Loosely based on my ancestors struggles in poverty stricken England. Beginning in circa 1885 Spitalfields, London England. Supporting documents I found on Ancestry attest to a harsh reality for women. Especially if they dared step out of the line of expected behaviour. This story is however labelled as a work of fiction. I have painted a long ago picture of what I imagined their lives to be like."The gaslight's flare could not touch these darkened, winding alleyways.""Shadows began to fill the alleys , and streets.
Black clouds continued to roll in, as if mocking me. Gas lamps flickered on and off, framing the street in a ghastly yellow light. Shops were closing and I sensed an underworld beginning to stir. I felt someone very close behind me. Fear tore at me and I tried to hurry.."
