Biographie de Denes Agay

Denes Agay has been a towering figure in the field of music education for more than 50 years. Born in Hungary, he studied piano and composition at the liszt Academy of music in Budapest, graduating with highest honours, and went on to earn his doctorate from the University of Budapest. His versality and technical competence in so many areas of music gained him employment arranging for music publishers, orchestrating ballets, conducting radio shows and teaching.
After emigrating to the USA in 1939, Denes Agay decided to concentrate on keyboard work, becoming composer, editor and educational consultant for several publishers. His famous series of teaching collections, anthologies and texts for piano studies have embraced composers of all periods and his own compositions have been heralded as "tonal, but full of harmonic surprises", and "beautiful realised conceptions".
Denes Agay has received many accolades and honours and his diverse range of music books and tutors are used by private teachers, music schools, colleges and universities worldwide.
