Duo Concertante contains five brief movements of contrasting character. A short prelude is followed by a playful scherzo before the third movement, the central, lyrical movement of the work. The fourth movements consists almost entirely of quickly bowed natural harmonics and the fifth contains rapidly driving music in constant motion. Besetzung : viola and double bass
