Five interconnected short comics follow four friends - Kim, Nisha, Davene, and Cookie - through the ups and downs of their daily lives in the Bronx. From self-care to spilling the tea at an hours-long salon appointment to healing family rifts, each story uses hair routines as a window into who these young women are and how they care for each other. Expanding on their critically acclaimed slice-of-life mini comic Wash Day writer Jamila Rowser and artist Robyn Smith offer a window into these four vibrant, relatable characters' everyday lives and the universal-yet-personal experience of Black women's hair care.
