Dr Toby Musgrave FSA FLS is an acknowledged authority on garden history ; his books have covered a wide range of subjects, from heritage fruit and vegetables and head gardeners, to plant hunters, paradise gardens and a biography of Sir Joseph Banks. He has presented and acted as a consultant for popular programmes on television and radio, and has contributed numerous articles to specialist periodicals, magazines and newspapers.
Musgrave is Faculty Lecturer in Garden and Plant History at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad, and has been Invited Lecturer at Oxford and Bristol Universities, and the Royal Horticultural Society in the UK. He is also the author of Phaidon's Green Escapes : The Guide to Secret Urban Gardens (2018), was consulting editor of The Gardener's Garden (2014) and a major contributor to The Garden Book (2000).
