Résumé
deValence is a graphic design studio founded in Paris in 2001. Published on the occasion of its exhibition at kyoto ddd gallery, this book presents a selection of works designed in the field of theater, architecture, design, publishing and contemporary art. deValence pays particular attention to typography and the process of shape forming. In tandem with this prolific activity, the studio has an associated publishing house, B42, which produces works that seek to stimulate reflection on and discussion of visual cultures and design as well as the role of the designer in society.
For this first solo exhibition in Japan dedicated to the studio, the kyoto ddd gallery is presenting a selection of the studio's projects illustrating its contribution to the renewal of contemporary graphic design.
