This new and carefully edited standard work contains all records of Richard Strauss handed down from the years 1932-1949. Until shortly before his death, Strauss continuously wrote down anecdotes from musical life, but principally notes and small essays on his role as a composer and on the functionalization of his music theatre works - within music history, in the broad context of western cultural history and, not least, in political times in general.
