Résumé

Established in 1967 by the Milanese entrepreneur Pino Rabolini, Pomellato's beloved jewelry merges the purest Italian craftsmanship with audacious, timeless design. Released on the occasion of the house's fiftieth anniversary, authors Sheila Weller and Giusi Ferré delve into the links between Pomellato's jewels and the highlights of 1967—the year of its founding—and beyond. Through iconic images captured by such photographic greats as Helmut Newton, Lord Snowdon, and Herb Ritts, Pomellato : Since 1967 relates the cultural, sartorial, and artistic revolutions of the 1960s and onwards.
From the space conquest to the Summer of Love, from Andy Warhol's works to the iconic model Twiggy, the great cultural moments of the 1960s are confronted with stunning shots of Pomellato's fine jewelry. Emblematic pop art creations and kaleidoscopic prints echo Pomellato's hallmark rounded, colorful designs in artistic, playful compositions. With 1967 being a great year of changes for women—from miniskirts and hippie vibes to groundbreaking songs—this exquisite volume conveys the image of a powerful, independent woman through the lens of Pomellato's jewelry.
