Résumé

This beautifully illustrated book describes how to, record images viewed through a microscope. Dealing with the principles and practice of photomicrography, it is written for all who take photomicrographs, or who contemplate attaching a camera to a microscope. The book describes techniques which may be applied to many disciplines for teaching, research, archives, or pleasure. Techniques for the improvement of contrast are covered in considerable detail. Besides standard photography, the book describes modern digital techniques and there is a short chapter on drawing. In addition to its value as a work of reference, the authors' clear, didactic style make this book suitable as a textbook for courses in photomicrography and/or elementary light microscopy.
FRED ROST, author, photographer and artist, has a special interest in the photography of small objects. RON OLDFIELD is well known as a microscopist and photographer, and has won several awards in the prestigious Polaroid international photomicrographic competitions. Both authors have been involved in microscopy and photography for many years, and have published other books on microscopy. Both are past Presidents of the Microscopical Society of Australia, and Fellows of the Royal Microscopical Society.
