ORLAN. Six decades

The French artist ORLAN undertakes radical interrogations of social and political conventions. In the 1990s, she caused a great stir with performances involving the surgical alteration of her body. In contrast, her early work has remained largely obscure. To bring her earlier works to light, this book, unfolds a panoramic : view of her entire oeuvre since the 1960s through a conversation between ORLAN, Gabriele Schor, and Catherine Morris and essays by Patricia Allrner, Elisabeth Bronfen, Christine Buci-Glucksmann, Else Marie Bukdahl, Sophie Duplaix, Donatien Crau, Jens Hauser, Rexana Marcos, Catharine Millet, and Camille Morineau.
