Emil Ferris grew up during the turbulent 160s in Chicago, where she still lives and is consequently a devotee of all things monstrous and magnificient. Her debut graphic novel, my favorite thing is monsters book one, garnered multiple awards, including two Ignatz awards, three Eisner awards, the lambda literary award, the Lynd Ward prize and the prestigious Fauve d'Or at the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
