Résumé
Revised new edition - 2017 ! Paul Hindemith composed the "Little Sonata for Cello and Piano" on the 13th / 14th May in New Haven (USA, Connecticut). He wrote this work - like a series of other works that were specifically characterized as "small" at that time - for his wife Gertrude to enjoy at home. This explains the ambitious, musical content of the work, while at the same time reducing the technical requirements.
Hindemith never published the work or publicly performed it. The first recording of the "Kleine Sonate" was published by WERGO under the number WER 60145-50. Instrumentation : cello and piano
