Little Brother

Do not be fooled by the youthful sound of the title, nor the narrator's status as a fervent computer geek in a somewhat contemporary San Francisco.  Cory Doctorow's "Little Brother" is a suitable echo to Orwell's "1984" in his evocation of a credible nightmare scenario where an overly 'cautious' US federal government is incapable of distinguishing friend from foe following a post 9-11 attack on American territory.  A compelling and informative read for all free-thinking citizens concerned about the paradoxically nefarious effects of zealous protection and security in the 21st century.
