Résumé

This book-the third in the series - completes Galore Park's acclaimed Junior History range. Fiona Macdonald tells the story of early Britain : its people, leaders, culture and beliefs, bookended by the invasions of Julius Caesar in 55 BC and William of Normandy in 1066 AD. Key Stage 2 pupils are introduced to this important period by a strongly narrative retelling of historical events, vivid impressions of life at the time, and challenging exercises with particular emphasis on source-based evidence.
With its colourful treatment of Romans, Celts, Saxons, Vikings, Normans and everyone in between, Junior History is sure to entertain as much as educate. About the author : After a history degree at Cambridge University, Fiona Macdonald did research at the University of East Anglia, and worked there as an undergraduate tutor. She also taught for the WEA and for Cambridge University Extra-Mural Board.
She left teaching to become a full-time writer and now has over 300 titles published, worldwide. She is a past winner of The Times Educational Supplement Information Book of the Year award ; her work has also been nominated for other prizes in the UK and overseas.
