Résumé

The New Norton Illumine Ebook features sixteen interactives that take students through challenging concepts and their application. These are supported by questions that students can explore and answer. New Check Your Understanding questions in the Norton Illumine Ebook, authored in consultation with Marc J. Melitz, give students answer-specific feedback as they work through the chapters. Smartwork online assessment provides book-specific problems with rich and immediate feedback.
Students can use Smartwork to practice both their problem-solving skills and economic intuition. Available with premade assignments for each chapter, problem sets are ready to deploy or customize. Smartwork contains almost 1200 problems.
Marc J. Melitz is the David A. Wells Professor of Political Economy at Harvard University. He holds a BA from Haverford College (1989), an MSBA from the Robert Smith School of Business (1992), and a PhD from the University of Michigan (2000). He is a fellow of the Econometric Society and is affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), CESifo, and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
His broad research interests are in international trade and investment. Melba has taught intermediate microeconomics using Varian for 20 years and has been using Smartwork since its inception in 2019.
