"Hot Cello" includes a varied selection of pieces inspired by blues, jazz, rock and pop. These cello pieces are suitable for more advanced students to use in lessons or simply to play for pleasure. The pieces in Volume 3 are musically and technically more demanding than those in volume 2, with technical "tricks" like double stops, neck positions (5th-7th), thumb position, off-beat bowing, and typical rhythmic "specialties" of popular music.
Thanks to the included piano part, the pieces can be performed with accompaniment at a music school concert. The jazzy titles will encourage the pupils to improvise. Chord symbols have been added to assist improvisation. Various combinations of instruments may be used : 1) cello duet (for concert performance) 2) cello and piano (for concert performance) 3) solo or duet with CD 4) solo or duet with additional instruments or backing group, e.
