Résumé

An essential strategy for navigating the age of AI. AI will help us to address enormous crises, from climate change to geopolitical conflicts to income inequality. It might solve some of the greatest mysteries of our universe, revolutionize fields as diverse as medicine and architecture, and elevate the human spirit to unimaginable heights. But it will also pose challenges on a scale and of an intensity that we have never seen - usurping our power of independent judgment, and perhaps spurring a new phase in human evolution.
Genesis, the final book by statesman Henry Kissinger, written with technologists Eric Schmidt and Craig Mundie, prepares us for the choices of tomorrow, and equips us to seize the opportunities presented by AI without falling prey to the darker forces it has unleashed. Charting a course between blind faith and unjustified fear, Genesis offers lucid solutions for the future of humanity.
Henry A. Kissinger (1923-2023) was an adviser to American presidents and many other world leaders, a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and author of numerous books including The Age of AI, coauthored with Eric Schmidt and Daniel Huttenlocher. Craig Mundie, president of Mundie & Associates, is former chief research and strategy officer for Microsoft, which he continues to advise on quantum computing and cybersecurity, and also an investor/adviser in early-stage companies involved in AI and other technologies.
Eric Schmidt, former CEO and chairman of Google, is an accomplished technologist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Eric founded the Special Competitive Studies Project in 2021, a nonprofit initiative to strengthen America's long-term competitiveness in AI and technology, and most recently cofounded (with his wife, Wendy) Schmidt Sciences, a nonprofit organization that works to advance science and technology for solutions to global issues.
