Résumé

The field of fluid—structure interactions groups together the study of all phenomena that present the coupling of the movement of a structure with that of a fluid. This is the mutuel interaction that can link a fluid domain to its surrounding structure. The range of phenomena studied is very wide, from the study of vibrating cylinders in flows, as is the case in the nuclear industry, to vibrating structures in turbulent flows, and to free surface phenomena in reservoirs.
This book deals with the different aspects of fluid-structure interaction — vibro-acoustic and aerodynamic — by reducing the coupled fluid-structure model. Uncertainties are present in the study of the latter. An entire chapter is reserved for reliability-based design optimization (RBDO). The calculation tools used are : Ansys for the calculation of structures and Fluent for the calculation of fluids.
For the examples processed using Ansys, the computer software is provided. Accompanied by detailed examples and including uncertainties, optimization and reliability, Fluid—Structure Interactions and Uncertainties presents the new, most effective design tools. The book is intended for engineering students and is a valuable support for practicing engineers and teacher-researchers.
Abdelkhalak El Hami is Professeur des universités at the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA-Rouen) in France and is in charge of the Normandy Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers (CNAM) Chair of Mechanics, as well as several European pedagogical projects. He is an expert in fluid—structure interaction studies and reliability. Bouchaib Radi is Professor of Higher Education in the Faculty of Science and Technology of Settat Hassan First University in Morocco.
His work specializes in material forming processes, optimization and reliability.
