Résumé
Max Opass and his wife Telma had an intense and loving relationship for the 49 years of their marriage, so much so that Max would feel 'a pain in my stomach, a little sensation of suffocation' when separated from her. After her death, he thinks it would be a sincere and loving tribute to have her portrait painted, and so selects five artists from the Yellow Pages. Through his encounters with these artists, Max slowly and painfully comes to realise how little he actually knew his wife and he is brought to a new appreciation of memory, love and loss.
