William Wegman is a contemporary artist notable for the remarkable breadth of his audience, which ranges from exacting art-world sophisticates to children around the world who delight in his popular storybooks. First known for his cutting-edge conceptual art (with or without dog) in the 1970s, he has developed into a virtuoso of many mediums, including painting and drawing, photography, film, and video.
