It was Zoya who spotted them first. Burning orange lights in the dark night sky. At first she thought they might be fireworks, or stars, maybe lanterns - but they weren't. They were flaming missiles, and they were headed straight at them. The Dragonfly was under attack... The last thing Zoya saw was a storm of orange fire. Now she lay on the hard ground, surrounded by smouldering debris, with Lendon Kane's cold, manic laughter still ringing in her ears.
Just when she thought she'd escaped him, he had returned to destroy them all.
