Cycling the Canal de la Garonne: 300km from Bordeaux to Toulouse

Bordeaux bustles with life and vitality. It is the starting point for a voyage of discovery through the beautiful Gascon countryside to the splendid city of Toulouse. The cycle track brings you into contact with wildlife, history, culture and those who live and work there. This guide describes the main Canal de la Garonne with an optional prologue to the Atlantic Ocean (135km return). It includes excursions and detours to many beautiful and historical towns and villages, including Sauveterre-de-Guyenne, Marmande, Agen, Valence d'Agen, Moissac, Montech and Montauban.
Year-round, but best cycled in spring, summer or autumn ; suitable for lone cyclists, families, groups and those wising a-bikes — mostly flat, easy cycling ; over 500km of cycling and cycle touring described.
