The Prix Pictet is one of the photography prizes the most important in the world. It's the first photographic prize dedicated to the development sustainable. In addition to the exhibition of photographers in competition, the organizers of the Prix Pictet publish a book that presents the works of artists in the final. This special edition of 2022 is dedicated to women photographers who link sustainable development issues inequalities between men and women.
This book presents the recent works of the 64 photographers who were shortlisted for the award. IN SHORT : ⢠A selection of works from over 1200 women photographers nominated for the award Pictet between 2008 and 2021. ⢠Essays by photographers Graciela Iturbide and Sally Mann (2021 Award Winner), and Jan Dalley, arts and culture editor at the Financial Times ⢠A preface written by Elif Aktug, founder of the Pictet Women's Network and responsible for the award Pictet and an introduction written by Isabelle von Ribbentrop, Executive Director of the prize.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR The book is co-edited by Fiona Shields, Head of photography at the Guardian. The Pictet Group is a specialized banking group in wealth and asset management present in 19 countries. Founded in Geneva in 1805, the Bank Pictet has become one of the most important wealth management banks in Switzerland and is one of the main independent players asset management in Europe. (wikipedia) In 2008 the associates of the group created the prize Pictet to raise awareness of sustainable development by photography.
