Résumé

This 'utility music' in the best sense of the word is warmly recommended for all male-voice choirs. Bertold Hummel wrote a-cappella choral music mainly for use in church services. He composed Cantate Domino for the longstanding director of the Academy for Catholic Church Music in Regensburg, Hubert Velten, and his vocal ensemble cantARTE. As text he chose those sections of Psalm 98 which, though slightly modified, had already been put to a Gregorian melody around 800.
Instrumentation : men's choir (TTTBBB) a cappella op. 97c
