Résumé

This sumptuously illustrated book about all sorts of seagoing vessels invites readers to dive into the wonderfully diverse world of maritime exploration. It offers an in-depth view of sea travel through the ages, deftly weaving history, science, and culture into a brilliant narrative. It covers a fascinating array of subjects - historic vessels, amazing voyages, extraordinary explorers, intrepid seafaring pioneers, a mass of technical details, and some fascinating tales of sea myths, legends, and creatures from around the globe.
Jan van der Veken has his own studio, Fabrica Grafica, through which he creates illustrations,,in a retro-futuristic style.
