Résumé
The ensemble piece of about six minutes' duration was created in 2010/11 upon request of the Ensemble Horizonte (Detmold) and refers to the poem 'Die frühen Gräber' [The Early Graves] by Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock. The world premiere took place at St. Christian Church in Hamburg in September 2011. Klopstock's night-time poem is turned by Redel into a tonal poem which follows the poem in its sensitively balanced and restrained texture.
The fascination, threat and grandeur of the night morph into a lovely picture of musical night-time thoughts. Instrumentation : flute, clarinet, viola, cello and percussion op. 70
