Janice Galloway's previous books include the critically acclaimed memoir This Is Not About Me (winner of the 2009 Scottish Book of the Year Award for non-fiction) and the novels The Trick is to Keep Breathing (1990 MIND Book of the Year), Foreign Parts (winner of the 1994 McVitie's Prize and the American Academy of Arts and Letters E. M. Forster Award) and Clara (2004 Saltire Book of the Year). She has also written two collections of short stories.
