André Grandis a débuté sa carrière de journaliste à l'ORTF aux côtés de Patrick Poivre d'Arvor, Jean-Marie Cavada, et Jean-Pierre Elkabbach. Il occupe des postes dans différentes rédactions à Paris (France Inter), en province et en outre-mer, notamment à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon où il crée le journal télévisé et à La Réunion. Il est rédacteur en chef à Limoges de 1975 à 1982, puis intègre la rédaction de France 3 Côte d'Azurant 1983. Il est nommé Grand Reporter en 2002. Il fait de nombreux reportages à l'étranger tout au long de sa carrière (Berlin-Est, missions humanitaires en Pologne et dans le nord du Vietnam, reportages en Californie et en Géorgie aux États-Unis). Il décède en 2021 de la maladie à corps de Lewy.
