Résumé

Texte à corriger : "Scarhaven Keep" by J. S. Fletcher is a mystery novel set in the quaint coastal village of Scarhaven. The story begins with the sudden disappearance of Bassett Oliver, a famous actor, who was last seen in the village after expressing an interest in visiting the local landmark, Scarhaven Keep. Richard Copplestone, a young playwright whose work Oliver was set to produce, joins forces with Stafford, Oliver's business manager, to unravel the mystery.
Their investigation leads them to the Greyle family, who have a long-standing history in the area. Marston Greyle, the current squire, is a recent arrival from America and claims no recollection of meeting Oliver, despite the actor's assertion of having known a man by the same name in the United States. As Copplestone delves deeper, he encounters the Greyle women, Audrey and her mother, who live in modest circumstances despite their relation to the wealthy squire.
The narrative unfolds with a series of inquiries and revelations, hinting at possible foul play and hidden secrets within the Greyle family. The novel explores themes of identity, memory, and the influence of the past on the present, all set against the backdrop of the mysterious and rugged northern coast.
