Alain-Marc Rieu is professor of Contemporary philosophy and
Science Studies at the University of Lyon-Jean Moulin and
senior researcher at the Institute of East-Asian Studies at the
ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. He is studying the
mutation since the 1970s of the role, conception and
organization of knowledge in advanced industrial societies. He
now concentrates on a comparative study of Science and
Technology policies.
This includes studying present ideological constructions and philosophical debates in East Asia and Europe. He has been visiting professor in major universities in North America and East Asia. He is the author of various articles, studies and books.
