Résumé
Dass die Kirche ein interaktives Netzwerk ist, scheint neueren Studien und Gestaltungsprogrammen zufolge sicher zu sein. Vor wenigen Jahren noch war genauso sicher, dass die Kirche eine Mitgliedschaftsorganisation ist. Ging es seinerzeit vor allem um die Verwaltung knapper Ressourcen, so geht es jetzt um die Ermöglichung flüchtiger Begegnungen. Wollte man seinerzeit ganz im Sinne gewinnmaximierender Unternehmen unbedingt wachsen, so will man jetzt ganz im Sinne digitaler Medien jede Gelegenheit zur Kommunikation wahrnehmen.
Daran irritiert die Anfälligkeit für intellektuelle Moden. Die Kirche erkennt ihre Zeitgenossenschaft in der Übernahme von Leitbegriffen des öffentlichen Diskurses. Dazu gehören zwar Organisations- und Netzwerkterminologien. Aber erstens sind Organisation und Netzwerk keine Gegenbegriffe. Und zweitens wird bei all dem Übersetzungseifer ein Dritter vergessen: der Übersetzer selbst, die Kirche. Two or Three.
Church between Organization and Network. Lectures That the church is an interactive network seems to be certain according to some newer studies and programs. Only a few years ago, it was just as certain that the church is a membership organization. Then, the focus was above all on how to manage scarce resources, today it is on how to enable fleeting encounters. At that time the declared goal was to grow just like a profit-maximizing enterprise, today it is to seize every opportunity for communication, just like digital media.
This susceptibility to intellectual fashions is irritating. The church sees itself as contemporary by taking over leading concepts of the public discourse which include in fact terminologies of organization and networking. But first of all, organization and network are no counter terms. And secondly, one thing is forgotten, despite all enthusiasm for transmitting: the transmitter itself, the church.
