After working as an actor and arts administrator in London, Clare Owen married a boat builder and moved to Cornwall. She promptly had three children and set up an improvised theatre company, re-enacting the stories of their audiences around the county. More recently she has co-written and performed with the all women ensemble, 'Riot of the Freelance Mind' and she regularly reads her short fiction at spoken word events and local festivals.
Sophie Aldred was born in Greenwich.
She is best known for the part of Ace in Doctor Who, she has presented children's TV shows and voices Tree Fu Tom and Dennis the Menace. She has appeared in a number of theatre productions. Sophie is the narrator for the audio books of Zed and the Cormorants by Clare Owen, Strange Waters by Jackie Taylor, and co-narrator of Paper Crusade by Michelle Penn and Solstice SHorts Anthology, Words from the Brink. Sally has drawn, painted, glued, moulded, sewn, shaped and created since before she could string a sentence together. She studied art at college and went on to study for a textile design degree, but left to work for BT A few years ago she did a Stained Glass course, then a Resin course, a machine embroidery course, an enamelling course..
Sally found her original love of drawing and created buildings on reclaimed wood and vintage items which is when she set up her business. When she moved to Cornwall she took to the streets of Lostwithiel sketching the buildings in her home town. This led to studying for an MA in Illustration at Falmouth University. Adding a few new passions along the way, collage and repeat pattern making. Sally provided the illustrations and handwriting for the story-within-a-story in Zed and the Cormorants
