Winterburn's Bride is the first digital edition of a novel with romantic elements, set in London and the English countryside at the end of the Napoleonic Wars. When wounded Leigh Nash has a vision on the battlefields of Portugal and returns home, he discovers he's inherited his dead brother's title, Earl of Winterburn. Over the scheming and objections of his powerful family and his own extravagance and sensuality, Leigh chooses a path toward becoming a vicar.
His first post is the village of Rowdene. If he can remain chaste and avoid scandal for a year, his uncle, a bishop, will approve his ordination. Leigh's new neighbor, Rosalind Merrifield, knows he's not a parson at all, but a haughty lord, cold as a November frost and hot as a Guy Fawkes bonfire. However, when her brother's gaming threatens to ruin her, Rosalind turns to Leigh for help.
